The Temper Trap Returns with New Music and a Muse Tour

Apr 5, 2026 | 3:09 AM

The Temper Trap is heading back with new music and a full stretch of North American shows. In its latest album announcement, the Australian band confirmed that Sungazer will arrive on July 10, marking its first full-length release in roughly a decade.

The group also revealed plans to hit the road across North America this summer, joining Muse on a run of amphitheater dates. The tour puts the band back in front of large U.S. and Canadian crowds as it begins the next chapter of its return.

The title track is already out, giving listeners an early look at the new record. The band has described the song as a personal one, written by frontman Dougy Mandagi for his son before he was born. That note gives the comeback a more intimate starting point, even as the live plans point to a much bigger rollout.

With a new album on the calendar and major tour dates lined up, The Temper Trap is stepping back into view with fresh material and a clear plan for 2026.
