5:40pm      Motley Crue and Dodge are giving fans a “Chance to Be Bad” in a nationwide promotion.   Register, watch the video and share with friends on social media for a shot at winning a new Dodge.  Kickstart My Heart is featured in a new Dodge commerical called “Uncle”.  The tie-in for Motley’s Final Tour which lands in Okc this Rocktober!

5:05PM     Volbeat’s Michael Poulsen was in a death metal band before Volbeat.  He reportedly got tired of the scene in Europe and started Volbeat.   Michael took the name “Volbeat” from Dominus’ third album “Vol.Beat” (read as Volume Beat).  Their first demo tape before they got signed was called “Beat the Meat”…. It writes itself just saying.

4:39PM   There are many bands who suffered the loss of a lead singer whether it’s from death or just quitting.  AC/DC, Nirvana, Alice In Chains and Judas Priest come to mind.  Three Days Grace is also one of these bands who saw their vocalist Adam Gontier leave the group in early 2013; however, in this case no one died.  The band grabbed Matt Walst of My Darkest Days shortly after.  The bands first official single with Matt is out now.  The track is called “Painkiller” is currently being played on KATT.  The new album is scheduled for release this year.

4:05PM     The cowbell was first used in hillbilly music in the 1920’s.  It has also been used in modern music including hard rock.  Motley Crue’s Tommy Lee used it on the first album and Sam of Chevelle has employeed the instrument on the new Chevelle single “Take Out the Gunman”.  In the spirit of the cowbell let’s revisit the classic SNL skit…

3:05PM    The closest the Arctic Monkeys are coming to Oklahoma is this years Lollapalooza in Chicago this August.  With bands like Kings of Leon, Cage the Elephant, Young the Giant and AM, this might be the best alt-rock festival package of the year.  Worthy of a road trip!
