Creator of the iconic logo for legendary Oklahoma City rock radio station Rock 100.5 the KATT has passed away…

The man, Trey Aven, responsible for much of the artwork & logo design for legendary rock radio station KATT-FM Oklahoma City passed away on Sunday November 5th in Cuenca, Ecuador. Trey was 75 years old. Trey was credited with designing the iconic KATT character and a lot of the early KATT calendars, stickers, KATT Koloring books and merchandise for the station in it’s early years. He operated out an art studio in the Paseo District from the mid 1970’s into the 1980’s. He also contributed to the Heavy Metal comics issue #34 in 1980 by writing the script for “Shootout at the Fantasy Factory. He was also a alum of the University of Central Oklahoma (Central State University at the time).
